800+ Auto Telematics Execs Unite in Munich Today to discuss how the Connected Car is the Key to Auto Revenue

Today 800+ automotive and telematics execs including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Fiat, Volvo and Ford have united at the Telematics Munich Conference to share their strategies for the connected car and how it is set to become the touch point with consumers and the key revenue enabler.

Europe’s largest gathering of auto telematics execs, hosted by Telematics Update, is underway at the Hotel Dolce, Munich. 60+ expert speakers from the most innovative and influential companies in the market such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Car2Car Consortium, QNX, Zurich, BBC and Volkswagen will be taking to the stage to discuss their vision for the connected car and how telematics could become the key revenue enabler for OEMs. Situated in Munich, the heart of the European auto industry, Telematics Update has united the connected car ecosystem to capture the buzz in the industry right now; how the major OEMs are creating infotainment, convenience and safety offerings to transform the OEM-consumer relationship.

Precksha Saksena-Sood, managing director, Telematics Update, is on the ground at Telematics Munich 2013. “It is clear that the delegation onsite today is eager to hear the latest from all the experts on site. I’ll be moderating a panel later today on ‘The OEM Mission to Monetise the Connected Consumer’. With mobile data and traffic volumes set to increase, the whole telematics community is working out just how they can get a piece of the pie – and it’s a very exciting time!”

Just moments ago the delegations witnessed first-hand BMW announce their next vision for the connected car and explored how the major OEMs are creating infotainment, convenience and safety offerings to transform the OEM-consumer relationship. Their session as well as what’s on the agenda for tomorrow is on the website:

From a media perspective, this year, Telematics Update has pulled out all the stops. Charlotte Wright, marketing manager at Telematics Update, also on the ground at Telematics Munich, has commented:  “We’re also getting set for the live industry poll we’ll be hosting later today to capture the key trends and opinions in the industry right now. The event is the biggest day in the European automotive telematics calendar so we didn’t want to miss out on the chance to get the opinions of the experts working in the space.”

Telematics Update will also be conducting a series of video interviews with some of the conference speakers such as BMW, Telefonika, Ford, Daimler and TomTom and they’ll be released on the Telematics Update website over the coming weeks:

The Telematics Update journalists are on hand to sum up all the key takeaways from the conference so those onsite, and those who couldn't make it on the day, still won’t miss a trick. The day one round-up will be available via the TU website tomorrow morning, Tuesday 12th November and the day two round up will be available on Wednesday morning (13th November) on the TU website
